The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute :

The Himalayan mountaineering Institute is a must visit place especially for the mountain lovers. It was built in the memory of Tenzing Norgay who climbed the Everest in 1953.Padmaja Zoological Park is located too close proximity of the Mountaineering Institute, which is also known as Darjeeling zoo. It houses many endangered species like snow leopard, red panda, goral, Tibetian wolf and a variety of wolfs.

Tiger Hills:

It is located in the highest peak in the region. The Tiger hill is amongst the two places in India from where you can view the panorama between Mt. Everest and the mighty Kanchenjunga. It is advised to visit early morning to the gorgeous glimpse of the mountains. It is accessible by road and is nearly 40 minutes from the Darjeeling town.

Darjeeling mall and Chaurasta :

It’s is located in the midst of the Darjeeling town. It’s the heart of the town and the favorite place for hangout for local as well as the foreign people. Ghoom Monastery :

This is the largest monastery in the area, built in 1875 by Lama Sherab Gyatso. The Ghoom Monastery is the major Buddhist pilgrimage places in Darjeeling district.

Japanese temple and Peace Pagoda :

For devotees and pilgrims, this is a must visit. This is a fine example of traditional Japanese style temple in Darjeeling that was inaugurated in the year 1972. The Japanese temple houses the portrait of the founder Fujii Guruji and a mold of Lord Buddha. At close proximity to the Japanese Temple is the Peace Pagoda with a motto to unite people of all races, religions and creeds. Its sole purpose was to spread peace among the people.

Kalimpong and Kurseong

Kalimpong is a tiny village which is a symbol of the divine nature. It is untouched by the modern culture and is surrounded by foggy mountains, waterfalls, flowers and pine trees. This is the gateway to the other tourist sites like Lava, Loleygaon, and Rishab. Kurseong, as known by their Lepcha community “Land of White Orchids”. It will give eternal bliss and retreat from the scorching heat and hot plains. The climate here is pleasant round the year.
